Thought might be good to write a review since Randy himself came to my class and talked about this book (Got my book signed :) Very humble and deep thinking man IMO. I bashed on him that I didn't like the book at first, but he kindly accept it. Since he spent sometime for me, I will gladly write a review for it.Yet, I think most of the reviews said it all so I am gonna bring some uncommon points from Randy.What people often miss is the Zen/Buddhist part of the book. Almost all the chapters follows this religious approach to entrepreneurship. Business savvy vs Buddhist thinking. Keep in mind how they to balance each other(read it yourself).Another point people criticize him about is that when he didn't align his action and philosophy (read it yourself) while he was serving as a leader in Crystal Dynamic. He said that was the only time he really felt dissatisfied in his life even though he was successful. If he felt dissatisfied and unsuccessful, he would assume is the unsuccessful part that contributes to his dissatisfaction. But lucky, he mentioned, he found out that the success didn't contribute to his happiness as much as it should. He didn't like the his role and the gaming business. So is good thing to alert yourself constantly about what you are doing vs what you should be doing.The lack of substance, vagueness, and jumping around times cause some readers confusion. Randy sees these characteristics as a chance for people to discuss the book in a open-minded perspective.PS: Randy's quote to me "All the bad, enjoy your journey." Anyone has any idea what that means? I don't really get the first part. Randy Komisar has put together a precious collection of thoughts and examples of the importance of living inside your passions, not simply waiting for retirement to do the things you are passionate about. It was a perfect book for this point in my life. I too struggle with this, as most of us do,and this book helps define the risks of not taking action. I was lucky enough to thru hike the Appaachian Trail this year (2017) and the experience taught me that (as philosopher Alan Watts so eloquently stated) life is about dancing while the music is playing, not waiting for the last few notes at he end of the song. Let go of the Deffered Life Plan and find what you love to do. That is the message that Randy wove throughout this book!
